The county uses Multi-Factor Authentication on its email and VPN applications (Office 365 and FortiClient, respectively). This means when you log into your Office365 or VPN, you will be periodically prompted to verify that it is truly YOU by looking for a second factor of authentication—in this case, a desk phone or mobile device. Specifically, everyone with a “lewiscounty.ny.gov” email address.

Step-by-step Guide to Enrollment:

1. Find the automated enrollment email from Duo. It looks like this:
   
2. Click the enrollment link in the email.
   
3. Choose which type of device you would like to use and click continue.
   
4. Click “Start Setup.”
   
5. Choose an authentication method for your device.
   
6. All done!
